CAMPAIGN VISION & MISSION
Our Vision
The UN 1503 Project was set up as a medium against injustice, unelected judiciary, unaccountable state agencies, closed courts, denial of human rights, state sponsored breakdown of families and abuses of children’s and grandparents rights.
It is also a means to bring to the attention of the Public – the gross abuses by financial institutions and Governments against the citizens and families. The Project is to focus campaigns against abuses suffered by people of the industrialised world.
Veccaria wrote in his Deide Delle Pene' (1764) questioning the administration of law and the possibility of bribery as an element of arbitrary decision making as the judges did not strictly adhere to the literal text of the law and are unaccountable. This was the first time that it was acknowledged the precarious nature of balancing an independent judiciary and importance of judicial accountability. It was recognised that in the absence of independent accountability of the judiciary it would mean that a large section of the population would be disenfranchised by unlawful decisions of unaccountable judges. It exemplifies that in the absence of formal accountability and transparency of the judiciary favourable judicial decision making can be expected between the elite and the citizens. This is something which can be seen all over the world particularly where politicians have a say in the appointment process but very little is publicly written. There are regional instruments but these are similarly plagued with problems seen in national courts.
There are regional courts such as ECtHR, American Convention on Human Rights, Arab Charter on Human Rights, African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights and Commonwealth of Independent States Convention On human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. ECtHR is on record to say that they are not governed by the European Convention Rights. (http://www.elc.org.uk/pages/eu_petition.htm).
Our Mission
It is our aim to see that an independent, trustworthy and effective judicial system is an essential pillar of a democratic state. The judicial system is a guarantor of property and family rights and a mechanism of dispute resolution, and is crucial to the achievement of good governance tempering the excesses of the State and thereby protecting the Public good. The transparency, accountability and efficiency of the courts is an essential discipline on other structures of the State and thereby underpins their credibility. We would achieve this by:-
i) Petitioning the UN to bring guilty parties to book;
ii) That there must be a Charter guaranteeing and protecting citizens from abuses of the courts, Governments and financial institutions
iii) We seek to evidence the widespread, systematic and persistent abuses by the judiciary and state agencies against its citizens.
iv) Informing communities of the impacts of the bias/ criminal and unlawful acts including the adverse effects of the Judiciary, State bodies, financial institutions and Governmental activities destroying social cohesion and breakdown family.
v) Informing communities of their rights under international and national law; Supplying data, history, and examples of wrongdoing to communities and the United nations.
vi) By equipping communities with knowledge and know how to fight for their rights.
